Concentrating, real hard

You know how you always see highlights of Michael Jordan with his tongue sticking out? As if he would not be able to create the awe-inspiring highlight, or keep his balance, without the help of his tongue.

I have a tendency to stick my tongue out when I am concentrating, on things like ironing, cleaning, etc.

Today my brother posted more photos of his beautiful daughter, including this one. Looks like she has picked up her aunt's habit:

Finally, a little warmer

Temperatues today were in the high 60s. Nice. The golf course will be calling next week. Has my winter-hate been documented in this forum enough?

***

Off to a baby shower for one of my all-time favorites, Miss Becky and here husband, Mr. Mike, Saturday. Eighty people RSVP'd. I don't know 80 people.

***

Why are people so angry? Today I was in downtown Birmingham waiting for someone to pull out so I could take their parking spot. I can see the guy behind me, who is clearly upset, just cussing me out because he has to wait. Go around, sir. This kind of rage is what is killing our country.

***

It's Friday night, I am at work and there is a beer commercial on TV taunting me. Sucks.

Why?

It is a question that people across the country and world are asking in regards to the shooting in Virginia. 33 people gone. And for what?

I know that people always say guns don't kill people, people kill people. But if that kid would have gone to into the classroom with a knife and not a 9mm a lot less people would be planning funerals today.

My favorite first nephew and niece

I always tell Patrick and Grace they clean up real nice -- as witnessed in these, from last spring. Finally got the film developed.

cleveland rocks?

OK, so we went to the Final Four. I never posted any photos when we got back because Erin injured her leg and it has been a little crazy around these parts.

Picked up the disposable camera from the Indigo Girls concert which inspired me to post a few.

They are auctioning off the guitar for charity. Last bid I looked at was $3,500.

Because it's about the basketball.

Happy vacationers

call it what it is

Don Imus, who has a national television show and syndicated radio program, called the the Rutgers University women’s basketball players "nappy-headed hos," last week.
If you have missed this story, you might be living under a rock because it has blown up. Imus has been suspended from his shows and some are calling for his firing.

Rutgers players stopped short of asking for his job when they spoke about the incident today. They did say they were "physically and emotionally spent and hurt."

I don't think Imus should be fired. Under the First Amendment, he can say whatever he wants. What bothers me is Imus saying he is not racist. If he weren't, he would not have uttered such a phrase.

Just call it what it is - racism.

Out of touch

Sorry for the long wait between posts. We got back from Cleveland on Wednesday, then work, work, work.

Rutgers did not win the title which made me very sad.

But today a kid from Iowa (I can call him that because he is only 31) won the Masters. Congrats to Zach Johnson, from Ceder Rapids Regis, also former Super Bowl quarterback and NFL MVP Kurt Warner's high school.

As an aside, why do athletes feel the need to priase the Lord when they win such events? Don't you think He/She has more important things to worry about then a golf tournament or football game or rugby match?
