Outta here

Only three days of living in Michigan left. I am ringing in the New Year with a post on the blog. We have just been too busy (and Erin too sick) to go out and party in 2008. We had many parties, or at least small get togethers, last week.

Thanks to all the great folks at the paper for giving us an amazing sendoff. I should have taken more photos at the going away party at Honest John's. I think I was too busy drinking beer.

Again, thanks for everything.

Christmas rocked

We had a great holiday. Hung out with Erin's family in Galion before heading to Naperville to see the Maxwell, Needham and Burns families.

Thanks to Jan and Dave and Bridget and family for everything.

Can't wait to play Clue again. Next time, I am Colonel Mustard. Pat took my character and won the game.

Great to see everyone before the move.

A few high(low)lights:

Last day

I am putting in my last few hours at my current job and have to say that leaving is bittersweet. The people I have spent the last five years working with are not only co-workers but friends. It will be a little harder than I thought to leave.

I realize it is for the best...and I am looking forward to a few of the perks at the new place.

da-da-da da-da-da...

Two weeks of relaxing before I start.

Happy holidays.

Wow, we are busy

I have five shifts left at this job and so much to do before we can even think about picking up and going to Bristol. Christmas time is not the best time to be moving.

By the way, the Mitchell report on steroids is coming out Thursday. Expect big, big names to be revealed as users and abusers.

we are moving...

.. to Connecticut.

I always wanted to move somewhere warmer. No such luck. A job at ESPN beckons. Put in our two weeks today. Seeing family over the holiday. Arriving at the world wide leader on Jan. 7.

That's the world wide leader in sports.

Great weekend

Spent Saturday catching up with old friends up in Saginaw. Thanks for the invite Huddys.

Sunday was a little bit trying. For all but 22 seconds, the Cowboys trailed the Lions. Luckily, we have Romo. Boys, 28-27. At 12-1 it is shaping up to be one of their best seasons. Of course, I am not sure anyone can touch the Patriots.

Also, say farwell to the fantasy football season. The He-Men did not put up much of a fight to get in the playoffs. There's always next year.

The AL gets better

Specifically, the Tigers who acquired Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis for Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller, Mike Rabelo and three other well-regarded prospects.

Tigers owner Mike Ilitch, who has won three Stanley Cups with the Red Wings, wants a World Series title before he dies. He put his money where his wishes are -- now we wait until next summer and see what they can do on the field.
