Good weekend

Spent the weekend tying up many loose ends. Finish paying the old utility bills, start thinking about hooking up the new utilties. Find a place for Katie to stay when we come back to pack up the house...on and on, etc., etc.

Anyway, I did squeeze in breakfast at a place called Wild Child's. Awesome chilli omelette.

I am hungry for eggs

Three weeks into the new job I can safely say -- I LOVE IT.

Connecticut seems cool, too. I have the next three days off and a goal: Find a good breakfast place. Erin mentioned a possibility yesterday.

That's one of the great things about moving -- new restaurants.

Yes, they have Olive Garden and Chilli's here...but you know what I mean.

happy birthday to me

Yesterday was my birthday. Thanks to Erin for the great cupcakes and gifts. She got me tickets to "Rent". I have seen the play a few times now but it never gets old. While there are those out there that think it is about a bunch of kids who need jobs, my interpretation is a little different. I think the underlying theme is how much love there is in the world. It's always good to reflect on that once in awhile.

Enough sap.

On a different theme, the media doesn't have to have an East Coast bias for this Super Bowl. They should be pleased to have two teams that make it a necessity.I can't root for the Pats or the G-Men. This is evil vs. evil.

Holy cold

Just looked at the weather in four of the past five cities in which I have resided.

St. Cloud, MN is looking for a high of minus-4 degrees today. Not missing that. That is booger-freezing weather.

Here, it should be a more managable 32.

For all you Minnesotans/Iowans, bundle up.

Getting back to being a night owl

I had two weeks off after I finished at the paper and then spent a week doing day shifts. After close to a month of not being awake until 3 in the morning, tomorrow I start the late shift again.

Interesting part of this gig, 4 p.m.-3 a.m., four days a week.

We shall see how quickly I get used to it again.

Small is one thing...

...but Erin, Katie and I seem to be tripping over each other a bit in our new efficiency-like space.

We found a condo on Sunday and sign the lease on Wednesday. They are refurbishing though, so it won't be ready until Feb. 16. Luckily we don't have to be out of here until Feb. 18. We should be back to Michigan to pack up the house in the near future.

In the meantime, check out some crabby temporary housing (read small space for 45 days) dwellers.

Here we are

We made it to Connecticut safely. Have been a week on the job -- LOVE IT.

Rainy in Bristol today.

As soon as we get our home computer up and running I will post some pictures of the tiny place we live.

Katie is not a fan of the hotal or her mother right now.
