sorry for the lapse

We have finally been able to get out and enjoy our new surroundings -- since the house is finished and we have days off together. As a result, I have been a little lax about posting.

Two weeks ago we went to Mystic, Conn. If it sounds familiar it is the town where they filmed Mystic Pizza, a romantic comedy that featured a young Julia Roberts and Cedar Falls, Iowa, native Annabeth Gish. After eating at Mystic Pizza(yes it really exists and is yummy), we did some shopping. I got a cool bowl made out of a recycled bicycle chain.

Later, we headed for the Mohegon Sun casino. I would say it rivals many of the Las Vegas casinos for shopping and dining. After blowing a few bucks in the slots we ate at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse -- also pretty good.

Last weekend we hit the local outlet mall. Erin bought her first Coach bag.

This weekend, I think we need -- for the sake of our savings account -- to stay home.

A little trivia: Annabeth Gish was in the Waterloo Community Playhouse version of "The Music Man" with my brother Brian.

work, work, work

Not much new to report. The dryer is broken so that is sort of a pain. The Sears people -- surprise, surprise -- can't come out until Monday. In the meantime, using the coin laundry at $1.25 to dry.

The WNBA tips off its 12th season on Saturday. I know many of you are not enamored of chick hoops but I like watching it.

ESPN's women's basketball writer likes the Detroit Shock to win another title. Read all about here.

Our place

We finally got around to taking some pics of the new place. It is cute and will work until we take the plunge and finally buy a house. We know it is the way to go but just need to save a little more cash. If one more person tells me how the market is great for buyers...

But I digress. We are renting two story, two bedroom condo in Farmington. It has a lake and beach for the residents. It is also within a mile of bike trial that I love. There is also a driving range down the street. What else could I need?

Here are a few photos:

Just little

Just a cute photo of Brian and Agata's kids -- Marta and Stan.
