We did get our power back, 10 days after the outage. Longest 10 days of my life. On the final evening of no power I went downtown for dinner. I had seen some trucks pull into of neighborhood and thought there a was chance we would finally have heat, lights, hot water, cable and the Internet again.
Lo and behold, by the time we got home, power had been restored. Not sure I have ever been so happy.
Things that have happened since:
1. Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander won the AL Cy Young and MVP.
2. The Hawkeyes sucked. Lost to Nebraska today to finish 7-5. Losses to Minnesota, Iowa State and Nebraska should, but probably won't, put Kirk Ferentz on the hotseat.
3. The Cowboys have turned the season around. They won their fourth straight on Thanksgiving.

gimme power or gimme death
No one realizes how much they rely on electricity until they lose it, or at least I didn't.
We have been without it since Saturday. I don't really miss TV or Internet. I miss heat. I miss hot showers. Let me correct, I miss showering at my house. I have been doing so at the gym. At least I am getting some use out of that gym membership. But I digress.
Connecticut Light and Power is blaming the everyone, from the government to the weather man, for their incompetence in getting the power restored.
Hello, stop playing the blame game and get my power back on. Before I freeze.
